English writer Nevil Shute Norway is best known to
Australians for his novels “A Town Like Alice (1950)",
"Round the Bend (1951)" and ”On the Beach
(1957)”, the latter set in Melbourne and depicting
the end of the world. Many of his 20 novels revolve
around his war experiences, his travels and his knowledge
of aircraft and weaponry.
