The Queen Victoria Building (QVB) was built in 1898 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden jubilee. There is a great number of jewellery and fashion stores and international food outlets in the basement.

The 5 m high Royal Clock was designed by Neil Gasser in 1982. It shows scenes from the lives of british kings and queens.
