Centennial Park is Sydney's oldest park. It covers a 220 hectare area with ponds, gardens, walking tracks, sculptures, historic buildings and sportgrounds.

On January 26, 1888, Charles Moore, director of the Botanical Gardens at that time, let create a beautiful Victorian park. Before that the area was covered with swamps, scrub and rocks. On January 1, 1901 the inauguration of the Commonwealth took place.
