Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, Pittwater
The Basin is a narrow inlet in the western part of Pittwater. It belongs to the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
A ferry departs every hour from Palm Beach Public Wharf between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm daily.
The grassland is ideal for picknicks and camping. Park Rangers collect a small fee (e.g. 2 $ for strolling around).
There are toilets and barbecues and the basin provides a lovely safe swimming spot protected by a shark net.
It is the only camping spot therefore it gets rather crowded - booking is essential. The Basin is the starting point of a nice walk through the park.
