Cottage - This is Parramatta ... |
Hambledon
Cottage was built in 1824 as home for Penelope Lucas. She was the
former governess of the Macarthur's daughters. The trees in the garden
had been imported by John Macarther in 1871. The rooms are furnished
in the style of the 1820's to 1850's. The sandstone bricks in the
kitchen had been made by convicts. A precious Broadwood piano of 1830
stands in the drawing room. |
