In the Sydney Harbour National Park on North Head, above Spring
Cove, the former quarantine station is located. From here you can
enjoy the stunning view over Middle Harbour and Manly Cove. From
1832 until the 1960s ships together with the crews were quarantined
here. The Sydneysiders should be protected against deseases like
pox, pest, influenza and typhus. Today the quarantine station which
consists of a hospital and a moruary, the desinfection showers and
many other buildings, is a museum. It can be visited daily.
There are also night tours which try to prove that this place is
still haunted by evil ghosts. |
