Balmain

BalmainAt its beginning Balmain was a working class suburb with wharfs, docks, noisy pubs, and - a high crime rate. Slowly it degenerated into a slum. In the last decades it was rediscovered. Today it is a very attractive suburb with many shops, restaurants and cafes.

In Darling Street, directly behind the ferry wharf, this plaque is installed. All historic places and buildings, which lie on the Balmain History Trail, are listed here. The places are marked with badges.
